“Things Are Not What They Seem: Perception, Memory, Narrative & Naïve Realism In Collaborative Practice”

April 20, 2017
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Forsgate Country Club
375 Forsgate Drive, Monroe Township, New Jersey

Presenter: Pauline H. Tesler, J.D., CFLS
Director, Integrative Law Institute at Commonweal
Internationally recognized Author and Pioneer in the Development and Practice of Collaborative Family Law

This program is co-sponsored by NJCCPG and The Integrative Law Institute at Commonweal.

We invite attorneys, judges, mental health and financial professionals to participate in this dynamic, interactive program to learn and explore how to approach negotiations based on the way our brain actually filters information.

Ask yourself. Do you…..
1. Understand what “naïve realism” is and how traditional lawyers approach legal conflict and dispute resolution?
2. Appreciate how perception and memory impacts how we process and retrieve information and its implications for conflict resolution?
3. Understand the connections between perception, memory, emotion, and personal narrative, and how a story shapes perception and understanding of one’s experience?

These are some of the questions that Ms. Tesler will address and explain why these factors are so important in working with our divorcing clients. This is a presentation you can’t afford to miss.
