Karen P. Sampson, Esq.
Karen P. Sampson graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Albany and received her Juris Doctorate which included Tax Honors with Distinction from Rutgers University School of Law. Since 1996 she has been licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This firm was established in 2003.
In 2005, Ms. Sampson successfully completed Mediation Training for Family Matters through New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. She has served as a mediator on the New Jersey Roster of Economic Mediators for family law matters. Ms. Sampson is an Accredited Professional Mediator. She is a Past-President of the New Jersey Association Professional Mediators and a former Board Member as well.
Ms. Sampson currently serves as Vice President of the New Jersey Council of Collaborative Practice Groups. In September 2010, Ms. Sampson became one of the first collaboratively-trained attorneys in the South Jersey area, after successfully completing Basic Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law Training sponsored by Practical Collaborative Solutions, LLC in Wall Township, NJ. Since then she has completed many additional hours of advanced Collaborative Law training. Ms. Sampson is an advocate of the Collaborative Divorce process and recommends it to clients when appropriate. She believes the overall benefits provided by the collaborative process to the divorcing couple and their families are significant when compared to litigation.
Ms. Sampson is a Founding Member and Past-President (2013) of South Jersey Collaborative Divorce Professionals (SJCDP) (formerly known as the South Jersey Collaborative Law Group). Ms. Sampson is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She has authored and co-authored several articles on Collaborative Divorce and Mediation, including an article co-authored with psychologist Erin von Zuben, Ph.D., entitled “What’s New: Collaborative Divorce” was published by the New Jersey Psychological Association in the New Jersey Psychologist, Summer 2013 edition.
Ms. Sampson is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Burlington County Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association. She has also served as a Matrimonial Early Settlement panelist for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Burlington Vicinage, where she helped litigious divorce parties settle their matters prior to trial.
