SPEAKERS:Judge Patricia E. Carney, J.S.C and Judge Marc Brown, J.S.C

Judge Patricia E. Carney is assigned to the Ocean County Family Division. She is a graduate of Rutgers School of Law, Newark and received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. Prior to her appointment, Judge Carney was a former collaborative law attorney. She was a solo practitioner in Morristown, New Jersey, concentrating her practice in family law. She served on the District XIII Ethics Committee for five years and also served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers Law School, Newark.

Judge Marc. R. Brown was sworn in on January 5, 2018 and sits in the Family Part in Union County. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers College, Rutgers University, and a J.D. from New York Law School. Prior to joining the Bench, Judge Brown was a family and commercial practitioner. He also served as a mediator, arbitrator and collaborative divorce practitioner. Judge Brown was a Matrimonial Early Settlement panelist in Union County from 1987 until his appointment to the Bench; a member and chair of the District XII Ethics Committee; President of the Union County Bar Association; Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association ad Master in the Richard J. Hughes American Inns of Court. He was a member of Wolkstein, Von Ellen & Brown, LLC, in Springfield, New Jersey prior to his appointment to the Bench.
